Arriving in Georgia today. In route, stopping at Buc-ees for supplies to fortify our trail food. No Buc-ees in the West, so it’s a fun stop.

Once in Georgia, headed directly to Amicalola Falls State Park in north Georgia. This is one route to begin the AT, the approach trail is roughly 9 miles from the state park. That’s right, you hike almost 9 miles before you can begin the trail ( Cliff, aka Waterboy), or you can just drive a forest service road to the trailhead on Springer Mt (James, aka Orange Crush)

The hike officially begins on March 2nd for us.
Cliff will be the true through hiker, with Casper (CornDog) and Kate (Warrior Princess). I’ll also be hiking, but also supporting Cliff, trail angeling, shuttling and keeping up the blog,

More to come.
