Day 91 – 95, Burney to I 5, mile 1501

Song of the post – “Hot in the city” by Billy Idol

As stated earlier, we were hiking into several hundred plus degree days. At least on Day 1, after 9 miles of hiking, we were rewarded with Burney Falls. We hung out there a bit to cool off, and Cliff scored a Vanilla shake.

To deal with the heat we started hiking in the dark, getting on trail around 3:30am. this gave us 2-3 hours of often cold hiking. These days were a blur, really. 13 hr hiking days, mostly in the heat.

After 4 days of hiking in the heat, I decided to exit the trail a morning early, and got into Mt Shasta via Char Char. We met Cliff that evening.
