Day 89, A rest in Burney, mile 1411

Song of the post – “Goodbye yellow brick road” by Elton John

We are both in Burney, after a brief separation on the trail. Burney is like Julien and Wrightwood, very hiker friendly. Easy hitches to town, the church in town will put you up in their auditorium, awesome sporting goods store that will exchange your Darn Tough socks.

Beautiful murals through out town
Clean and cheap place to stay
Sleepy Burney
Ran into some old trail friends from
The Netherlands, Graceful and Koolaid
Celebrated our 18 or 19
wedding anniversary with some bowling.

Tomorrow we are back on trail early for 4-5 days to Mount Shasta (the town). This will also put us on interstate 5 for the first time since we left Oregon in April. AND we are due for a string of 100 plus degree days.
