We’re now in North Carolina (Cliff made it a day earlier).
In reflection, when hiking the PCT it took us roughly 4 months to get through our first state.
Hiked miles totals for Georgia: WB/CD/WP-78, OC-50. But it’s not a competition, right?
More trail magic recipients from the last couple of days.
Trail magic is plentiful on the trail so far. It’s quite different compared to the first 100 miles of the PCT. I believe it’s because the Southern California portion of the trail is much more remote, which translates to fewer road crossings of the trail. In Georgia, there are so many “gap” crossings, and it’s an older trail. Coming out and supporting hikers has developed into a fun activity for locals. And not to discount altruistic value, everyone down here is so friendly. Also, supporting hikers by way of providing shuttles to the trail has become something of a cottage industry.
