Song of the post – “A Thousand Miles from Nowhere” by Dwight Yoakam
PCT 101 – Definitions
Trail Bootie – Essentially this is found treasure on the trail. Something some other hiker had fall out of their pack. And it’s great if it benefits you. This is not an official PCTA approved term, but a Cliff term. Trail Bootie may have a whole other meaning out here we are unaware of.

Today will be a low miles day, roughly 9-10 miles, we will hike from 6- to 10am, and resupply in Morena Lake. My mom will pick us up at a bridge in the desert, and shuttle us into town to buy another 4 days of food, enough to get us to Big Bear.

For a short hike, it was a physical challenge. Desert sun in the face, all exposed and 1 water stop We really appreciate the cooler of trail magic.

4 hrs later we made it to the tunnel. Under passes are the club houses and lounges for PCT hikers, we’ve learned.
