It’s a very buggy time of year in Maine. The biting black flags have been mostly absent, but the mosquitoes and gnats have been legion. We’ve all been applying the Deet, even CornDog and Warrior Princess.
Hikers have begun to sport bug-nets to help battle the bugs.
