Day 58 – 62, More of the Sierras, mile 903

Song of the post – “Crazy Arms” by Patsy Cline

We extended our stay in Mammoth due to bad weather, and also Cha Char’s birthday. To celebrate we decided to do a day trip to Yosemite national park. First time for me and Char Char. Pretty place.

Kate will not set still for a picture
But Cliff will
Yes, a bear trap

The next day we headed out from the Bishop access point, south of Mammoth, for our next section of the PCT. We will be back in Mammoth in 5 days.

No cell/internet coverage in this section, so this post will be lite on commentary, and heavy on photos and videos, YAY!!

Bishop Pass is one of 9 passes
(I think) we’ve crossed so far
View from my tent. Kinda amazing
Descending Mather Pass

Summiting Muir Pass, and visiting the Muir Hut

Inside Muir Hut. Cool architecture
A little wildlife. I
haven’t seen much.
Looking down from Seldon Pass
Thought it was interesting
A little video and audio from
Silver Pass
Loved this marker. Wasn’t
expecting it. 1/3 done
900 miles
Back in Mammoth. At the end of 5 days of PCT hiking,
my first purchase.

Tomorrow we head back out. Should be back in Yosemite, this time hiking through, in about 2.5 days. Less than 100 miles to the 1000 mile marker.
